DRESSED FOR SUCCESS

DESIGN BY CHRISTER LINDARW
26th November 2004 27th February 2005
The Dance Museum invites you to a costume festival like none other, centring on its creator, Christer Lindarw. For almost thirty years now he has been bewitching audiences with glitz and glamour on stage, he has portrayed the image of success in astonishing transformation scenes and fantastic costumes, and, in the After Dark shows, presented well-known artists, now beautified, now luxury-packaged.
He has also created stage costumes for artists like Lilla-Babs, Lisa Nilsson, Jill Johnson, Jan Malmsjö and Povel Ramel. And who will ever forget the costume Lill Lindfors dropped in the Eurovision Song Contest or the clothes for the Queen’s Gala? His costumes for Peter Tailless and Frankenstein at the Stockholm Opera, on the other hand, are perhaps less well known. But he has also created clothes for more private successes, like weddings, e.g. for Lena Philipsson. We also want to do justice to Christer Lindarw’s draughtsmanship a less familiar aspect of his artistry.
